The Hyundai Sonata is a comfortable and likable midsize sedan that proves Hyundai can build cars that are not just easy on the pocketbook, but also easy to live with as well. Like most vehicles in the midsize sedan class, the Sonata offers front-wheel drive, numerous safety features and a choice of trim levels that include sporty and plush variants. Setting the Sonata apart, however, is Hyundai's lower pricing and outstanding warranty coverage.
For the most part, the Sonata has kept getting better. The current model, in particular, is not only a fully competitive choice for a family sedan, but a standout among its peers. In addition to the strong value proposition, it adds a few things previously not seen in this conservative nameplate - namely, daring styling and sporty driving dynamics. Newer pre-owned Sonatas are also a solid choice, but models prior to 2006 remain a risky used-car proposition.
Can I Find A Hyundai Sonata Owner’s Manual Online By Admin Posted in, on Thursday, November 12th, 2015 at 4:55 pm Hyundai has done something that will drastically change the way we react when we have an issue or question that we know the manual has the answer to. In fact, if you’re wondering if you can find a owner’s manual online, you should change that question to where can I find Hyundai’s virtual guide for my Hyundai vehicle. What Is This New Hyundai Manual This is the first 2D/3D manual for smart phones and tablets to be created by a mainstream automaker. Before the year ends, so sometime in the next 6 weeks or so, Hyundai will launch a virtual guide app to make it even easier to understand what’s going on with your vehicle. This will include how-to information for repairs, maintenance and features.
This app recognizes 45 major features of the Hyundai Sonata and will be available for free for both iPhone and Android users. Also Read: The New Hyundai Manual Beyond Features What will really set this virtual guide apart from the manual you typically find in the glove box, is the collection of 82 how-to videos and the six 3D overlay images that appear after scanning areas of the vehicle like the engine bay. Hyundai has said that the goal with this is to help drivers become more educated on the available features in their vehicles and to modernize the user experience. Also Read: How-To Hyundai Information This new guide to your vehicle will provide specific how-to information on the air filter, smart cruise control, Bluetooth phone pairing, warning indicators, the clock, engine oil, brake fluid, fuse box and smart trunk. Though this may not change things for everyone, it will be nice to have some information on your vehicle that is on the user friendly side of things and drivers in general can now more easily educate themselves on their vehicles if they choose. Sharing is caring!
– A 7-” touchscreen will regularly come on all 2016 Hyundai Sonata trims apart from the range-topping Limited 2.0T (which proceeds to have 8-” display). Both techniques feature smart phone incorporation via Apple company CarPlay (later supply) and Android Auto. A rearview camera and automatic front lights are regular on all trims as well. A computerized critical braking process debuts on the Constrained 2.0T, while Hyundai states it provides returned the Sonata’s revocation for slightly better coping with.
Read through sufficient market studies (what, you don’t go through industry research?) and you’ll probably find out that crossovers are progressively supplanting the midsize sedan as the vehicle of option for the American citizen family. It appears that nobody bothered to tell Hyundai, even though, as the previous year’s remodeled Sonata sells in increased figures than equally of Hyundai’s crossovers mixed. But we’re not surprised.
The “A”-scored Sonata is a single of the most popular sedans in this particular class, and improvements to the technology graphical user interface and further regular features make the 2016 Hyundai Sonata a more attractive proposition. 2016 Hyundai Sonata Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The 2016 Hyundai Sonata is offered in SE, Sport, Eco, Constrained, Sports 2.0T and Restricted 2.0T trim levels. The Sonata Hybrid is evaluated independently.
Regular features on the SE incorporate 16-inches alloy tires, a rear lip spoiler, automatic headlights, air flow-conditioning, cruise trip manage, total strength add-ons, heated wall mirrors, a lean-and-telescoping directing column and a 60/40-divided folding rear seatback. Technology features involve a 7-in. Touchscreen show, a rearview camera, the Light blue Website link Telematics method (with smartphone integration by means of Android Auto and Apple company CarPlay), Wireless Bluetooth phone and mp3 connectivity and a half a dozen-lecturer audio system with a CD person, Hi-def radio station, satellite radio station, a USB harbour plus an auxiliary audio jack.
2016 Hyundai Sonata Powertrains and Performance All Sonatas are a top-wheel push, and all sorts of engines besides the Eco’s are combined with a 6-rate automatic transmission. A 2.4-liter four-tube graded at 185 horse power and 178 pound-toes of torque control the SE, Sport and Limited models. At the Edmunds examination monitor, a Sonata Sport made the run from absolutely nothing to 60 mph in 8.2 secs, an average demonstrating for this particular class.
The Sonata SE possesses an EPA-estimated gas economy score of 30 mpg put together (25 area/38 freeway). The Sport and Minimal trims are somewhat a lot less at 29 mpg combined (25/36). 2016 Hyundai Sonata Safety Regular safety features on every single 2016 Hyundai Sonata involve anti-lock disc braking system, grip and stability handle, front side-seat part safety bags, total-duration side curtain airbags and a driver knee airbag. All Sonatas come with a rearview camera and Blue Weblink, Hyundai’s emergency telematics process (involves roadside assistance, crash answer, far from secure entrance control and tracking features for parents with young motorists that come with speed, geofencing, and curfew restrictions). Blind-spot keeping track of and rear cross-website traffic inform are standard for the Minimal and both 2.0T models and optionally available on the Sport.
Lane is leaving alert, automatic forward collision crisis braking and rear park your car help are optionally available on the Minimal and Minimal 2.0T. 2016 Hyundai Sonata Interior Design and Special Features When Hyundai hasn’t completed anything at all elegant for interior design, we enjoy how the control structure is uncomplicated and easy to use, with devoted control keys for primary features like navigation, mobile phone, radio station and media. The weather controls are straightforward, and Hyundai’s touchscreen graphical user interface is intuitive. The new 7-” touchscreen demands much less camping and packing than the 5-inches device it replaces thanks to the added real estate. Bound to the menu process is a beautiful 8-inch display screen with uncluttered, apparently marked charts. From their fun fonts on their sharp solution, these are exactly what touchscreens from the terrain of Samsung and LG will want to look like.
As for person area, the Sonata has more than sufficient space for four men and women. The front seats are effectively shocked absorbing and encouraging, ideal for very long-distance sailing. The outboard rear seats are large, and the transmission tunnel impinges only slightly on middle-seat legroom.
The Sonata’s sweeping roof structure range restrictions rear headroom for higher passengers, but all round this continues to a very roomy sedan. 2016 Hyundai Sonata Driving Impressions However the Sonata believes created all around turns, there’s also tiny that’s involving about the encounter. Even the Sports 2.0T toned isn’t very exciting, and its particular unsatisfactory engine performance is tough to describe offered its respected energy and torque output. There are some notable features in the Sports 2.0T, nevertheless, such as useful shift paddles and a level-based steering wheel, which seems much better than the spherical tire in other trims.
Nevertheless, Honda’s Accord Sport is much more regarding, as are the Ford Fusion and Mazda 6.
Review Very good gas mileage, we average just over 32 on freeways and just over 27 combined. Lots of pep, never thought a four banger could have this much go power.
Front seat are comfy and driver headroom is great. I am just over 6'3' and I fit. Back seats while comfy have less headroom. It has very good lane keeping for the most part. I was able to go over 10 miles on a curvy highway without touch the steering wheel. It will lose track though on entrance/exit points and badly painted roads.
For the most part it kept me near center of the lane without pingponging. Controls for the most part are logical and clear. Mapping is good but it took a little while to adjust to it.
Pricing is very good if you are willing to call and insist on a final cost before arriving at the dealership. I got this for $30k out the door. Paint is normal, tires are good and pretty quiet but we will upgrade when needed.
The only problems so far are the headlights leave an indent in the center, and there is a slight distortion in the glass in top center. You have to be tall to see it. Overall a great purchase, compared to the $50k luxury cars I was looking.
Review Purchased this car two years ago to replace a new 2016 Civic, that I found to be too small, with seats that didn't support well and uncomfortable on very long drives. If you have ever owned a Camry, this is the Korean version of one. The less exciting things are. 1) The 2.4L engine is rather tepid, if you think you are going to make burn-out marks on the street, you will be wrong. It kind of eases into highway traffic and you have to stomp on it (it will scream at you when you do), to get some good merging on a very busy and loaded highway. However, for regular surface streets, it accelerates well enough.
Handling also is kind of on the sloppy side, so if you whip it around a corner at high speed, don't be surprised if it tries to whip you back. In other words, it gets a little bit floaty and may not go exactly where you point it. It will eventually settle down.
Tire grip is okay, but the Kumho tires on it are not as quiet as some BF Goodrich's that I've used on other cars. They will be replaced by Pirelli's or BF Goodrich's. So, you wonder why I purchased it?
I knew about the handling and tracking because I've rented this vehicle several times. The first reason is fuel economy. This car when driven continuously on the highway at around 70mph, gets about average 34 to 36 miles per gallon.
Even in mix traffic, I very seldom get less than 32 mpg. In a 250 mile drive recently, where I had it cruising at 65mph, the car achieved, 39.75 miles per gallon. For a car that can easily handle four adult passengers, or 5 passengers with kids in the back, that is phenomenal.
2017 Hyundai Sonata User Manual
It is a very quiet cruiser, on very long drives there is not a lot of noise intrusion, which can increase driver fatigue. The entertainment system is very simple to use, with large fonts and nice size push buttons for phone, media, radio, blue-tooth and the like. It also works very well with my Android phones. The visibility behind the steering wheel is excellent to the front, sides and the rear.
The trunk is very large and you can throw a lot of stuff into it. Also, the layout inside is simple and the quality of the materials is decent. Most important was the price. Getting the Sports model with twin exhausts (that make it look sporty, even though it is not), LED daytime running lights, the darker chrome in the front and then putting dark, tinted windows on it.
Well, it looks like a design that although a little bit boring, well still look good in 6 years. At just over $21K, none of the other mid-size (large mid-size) cars could match it for the equipment and features One more thing, I have had no real issues with this vehicle at all and I'm at 39,000 miles.
The entertainment system went weird after two months of purchase. Hyundai ordered me a radio, received it and installed it in about a week. It still has another 20,000 on the bumper to bumper warranty and more than a 100,000 on the powertrain. Review I test drove a 2015 Sonata when my girlfriend at the time was looking at cars and fell in love with the car - so when my car died in late 2017, I bought my 2016 Hyundai Sonata SE PZEV. It was a rental car, so it has 48,000 miles, but looks new, feels new, and drives like new! I paid $12,900 for the car, and haven't given it a second thought - I get over 40MPG on flat highway at 59mph in the Eco mode, and when I want to kick it up a for sport driving, the Sport mode gives me incredible performance, and 38mpg - cant beat it!
7in touch screen with Apple Car play or Android Connect works flawlessly.Update 4/13/18 - After owning the car for 6 months, a few things are worth noting. The car gets great mileage on the road, 38-44mpg, but town driving has been at 23mpg - of course I drive aggressive. The car handles very good, and continues to be very comfortable. I would buy it again. Now have 55k on the clock. Review I'm impressed with the vehicle.
I am an Uber driver, and it handles all the situations very well. There are a few problems. The first one is you cannot charge your cell phone or use accessories if the vehicle is turned off. I find it very annoying when I want to charge my phone.
Another problem is the steering wheel obstructs the visibility of the gas gauge. I ran out of gas yesterday and it almost happened several times. Another issue is once you conne t your phone to the android system there isn't any way to delete the information or the app. If i don't turn off bluetooth on my phone all my calls are on the car system. Review I was packing up the family and heading to New York/New Jersey for vacation.
I decided to rent a car, since both of my cars are older. I was given a base model in blue, a very stunning blue too! Let me get the bad things out of the way, because they are minor.
While the seats are comfortable, the center stack infringes into the driver space right where my knee would like to go. The car has great cruise control, and lights in the instrument cluster to tell you when it is on and when it is set.
The car also has a great information screen in the middle of that cluster. While that screen shows changes for wiper speed, wiper intermittent speed, gear selection, and probably a couple other things I'm missing, it doesn't tell you what speed you set the cruise to. It seems like this would be easy, so I thought it odd that it didn't. And what is it with cars and the high setting on the HVAC fan? A car this quiet should not have a fan this loud. Otherwise the car was great for the almost 2000 miles we drove it. It was quiet, the ride was smooth, road noise was minimal even when the fan was not on high.
The stereo system was basic, and the screen was small, but information on it was easy to read. I paired my phone (and made sure to delete it when done) and it worked well as a hands-free system. I don't think music worked through Bluetooth, but I had my charging cable with me anyway, and using it 'docked' my iPhone, and the music played through that. Sound of the stereo was great. Local radio stations, even in the mountains, was good.
It had XM, and only in the mountains did we have problems with signal. The trunk swallowed all we put in it, although I had to use my Tetris skills since we brought so much. My car had 3 driving modes, Eco, Sport and ' (nothing showed on the dash).
I kept it in Eco, and while it would have to search for a gear when I needed to get up and go (it would be in or near that gear in sport) acceleration once that was sorted was really good. Dispatching left lane hogs on the highways of Pennsylvania was easy, a blip of the throttle and a few seconds, and I could jump from 55 to 80.
Overall, a really good car, I was sad to see it go at the end. I finished with about 30mpg (miles/gallons, not from the computer), at an average speed of 45 mph (from the computer). My highway stints got me 36.5 mpg from Indy to New Jersey, and an amazing 40 mpg on the way back on a flatter route. In mixed driving I still got 26 mpg.
– A 7-” touchscreen is available normal on all 2016 Hyundai Sonatatrims other than the range-topping Constrained 2.0T (which persists to have an 8-inch display). Each method feature smartphone integration by way of The Apple company CarPlay (later availability) and Android os Auto.
A rearview camera and automatic headlights are common on all trims as effectively. An automatic emergency braking program debuts on the Constrained 2.0T, although Hyundai states it offers returned the Sonata’s revocation for a bit improved managing. Read enough business records (what, you don’t read through business studies?) and you’ll probably understand that crossovers are progressively supplanting the midsize sedan as the vehicle of choice for the American citizen household. It appears that nobody worried to share with Hyundai, even though, as previous year’s re-designed Sonata offers in better figures than equally of Hyundai’s crossovers combined.
But we’re not shocked. The “A”-graded Sonata is 1 of the most popular sedans in this type, and enhancements to the technological innovation interface and other standard capabilities make the 2016 Hyundai Sonata a far more eye-catching undertaking.
2016 Hyundai Sonata Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The Hyundai Sonata is available in SE, Sport, Eco, Minimal, Sports 2.0T and Minimal 2.0T trim levels. A 2.4-liter 4-tube ranked at 185 horse power and 178 pound-ft of torque capabilities the SE, Sport and Limited models.
At the Edmunds check path, a Sonata Sport created the sprint from zero to 60 mph in 8.2 seconds, an average exhibiting for this class. The Sonata SE possesses an EPA-estimated gasoline economy score of 30 mpg combined (25 area/38 freeway).
The Sport and Limited beautiful are slightly less at 29 mpg mixed (25/36). 2016 Hyundai Sonata Safety Regular safety features on every single 2016 Hyundai Sonata include antilock disc braking systems, traction and stability management, entrance-seat area airbags, complete-length part curtain airbags and a motorist joint airbag. Lane departure warning, automatic frontward accident emergency braking, and rear recreation area help are recommended on the Constrained and Minimal 2.0T.
2016 Hyundai Sonata Interior Design and Special Features Although Hyundai hasn’t carried out anything fancy for interior design, we take pleasure in how the managed layout is straightforward and simple to use, with dedicated control keys for primary functions like navigation, mobile phone, radio station and multimedia. The weather conditions regulate essential, and Hyundai’s touchscreen user interface is user-friendly. The new 7-inches touchscreen calls for much less seeking and pecking than the 5-” model it replaces thanks to the more real estate. Sure to the navigation system is a beautiful 8-inch monitor with uncluttered, apparently marked maps.
From their enjoyable fonts on their well-defined quality, these are precise what touchscreens from the terrain of Samsung and LG will want to look like. As for traveler area, the Sonata has more than enough room for several grownups. The entrance seats are adequately shocked absorbing and encouraging, ideal for very long extended distance traveling.
The outboard rear seats are roomy, and the transmission tunnel impinges only a bit of middle seat legroom. The Sonata’s capturing roof range boundaries rear headroom for taller travelers, but all round this is nevertheless an extremely spacious sedan. 2016 Hyundai Sonata Driving Impressions Although the Sonata believes constructed all around turns, there’s also microscopic that’s concerning about the encounter.
Even the Sports 2.0T trim isn’t quite thrilling, and it is disappointing engine performance is challenging to explain provided its reputable potential and torque production. There are a couple of unique characteristics in the Sports 2.0T, even so, including useful change paddles and a toned-underside control, which beliefs better than the spherical tire in other trims. Still, Honda’s Accord Sport is more concerning, as are the Ford Fusion and Mazda 6.
